ABOUT DR. FAIRCHILD:

 

Dr. Fairchild teaches a vocal technique based on posture, areas of relaxation, breathing and maximum use of resonation. These fundamental concepts  were the result of his  long-time studies with noted voice teacher and voice therapist, David Blair McClosky who taught in Boston and Syracuse.

Dr. Fairchild graduated from Syracuse University with Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music (voice) degrees. He earned his Master's and Doctor of Education Degrees in Voice from Columbia University Teachers College.

For 24 years, Dr. Fairchild taught vocal music in the Eastchester Junior and Senior High Schools. He has  taught voice and piano privately for over 35 years with studios  in New York City and Westchester County.

Students  have  performed On and Off-Broadway, on Television and Radio, in Movies and on Recordings.

 

A Voice Soloist with The Westchester Pops Band for many years, 

Dr. Fairchild has performed 

leading roles in Musical Theatre, Opera, and Oratorio.

 

 

He has had baritone leads in a New York Gilbert and Sullivan Company and Toured the United States and 

Canada with a Vocal Quartet.

 

 

As a baritone soloist, he has sung at 

Christ Church in Bronxville 

for 30 years and performed solo voice recitals in 

New York and Boston.
